The time is at hand. Hell has long since been overcrowded and exhaling it’s evil and the disembodied dead now roam our countryside, towns and cities. Small blood drops are becoming visible on the face of the moon. Even the wolves are scared into silence, but the howls of yesteryear return to echo eerily in the unnerving night wind.
No mansion, common house or shanty remains without visitation after the darkness falls. The light tap on a window, the weird bumping noise, the scraping on a wall and the creaking footstep on a floor nearby causes you to become more alert in your bed while trying to deny it all. But, you know an unwelcome presence is close and getting closer. You remain as still as you can, and try so hard to be quiet that you begin to hear your own heart beating!
Something extremely sinister is beginning to overshadow you and has you frozen with a powerful terror, such as you have never felt the likes of or even knew was possible. Is it my turn? You ask yourself, as your heart is now about to explode. Am I only seconds from being attacked and/or swallowed into the dismal abyss of eternal torture?
You see, Halloween is about more than masks and candy. It did not come into existence by fluke or mistake, and don’t believe the fables. It’s also not confined to any particular month or day! It came into being when the first human woke up in the middle of the night and became acutely aware that the darkness hid much more than the sunlight! As word began to spread, others also became aware of the terrors in the night wrought through bewitchment, bedevilment and all things dark, evil and wicked.
Now, don’t be fretful. Your heart will flood with joy at daybreak. That is, if you make it! Otherwise, you may just get added to the very long and growing list of the many, who constantly go missing without a trace!
I can hear those faint voices wishing you all the thrills, blood curdling screams and relentless horror due you. The voices are from some of your old friends and especially your enemies, who all await you on the dark side! Oh! One more thing before closing: If you are as certain about your salvation, as you would have others believe, then you can forget all this nonsense, and sleep tight. On the other hand, ooooohoooohooooh!
Whether spooked or spoofed by what you’ve read, one thing’s for sure, the darkness awaits you!
